Wolfgang Wiegel is an expert in enterprise development. He has over 25 years’ experience in consultancy and project management of development and international cooperation programmes and projects. Mr Wiegel has solid experience of providing technical assistance in projects with GIZ, the EU, UNIDO, DFID and ITC. He has efficiently managed complex projects and programmes in various political, social and cultural conditions and business environments across Africa (Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Angola, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Egypt), Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East.
Mr Wiegel has 12 years’ hands-on operational management experience in EU-based SME and multinational manufacturing, engineering and service industries in different industrial sectors. His consulting experience includes SME support, internationalisation and upgrading; trade and export development; foreign direct investment (FDI) and industrial development; systemic enterprise consultancy including evaluations of sector competitiveness; industrial and agricultural value chain development; institutional strengthening of private sector support organisations, business centres and industrial development agencies; sector analysis and investment studies, special economic zones; vocational training; business development services; capacity development and training of trainers.
Mr Wiegel is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and German. He holds a first degree in Textile Engineering (Hof/Coburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany) and a postgraduate degree in Industrial Engineering and Business Administration (Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences, Germany).
