Wani Silas Lubang

WASH & IPC Specialist/Deputy Health System Stabilisation and Service Delivery Manager

Wani Silas Lubang is Montrose’s WASH & IPC Specialist/Deputy Health System Stabilisation and Service Delivery Manager for the DFID-funded Health Pooled Fund (HPF3) in South Sudan. He is a medical and public health professional with more than 14 years of progressive experience in integrated emergency and development health programme design and implementation.

Wani has vast experience in technical leadership and management at both operational and strategic level with diverse knowledge in managing human resources, finance and administrative systems.

Since joining HPF, Wani supported the HPF WASH and IPC components, mainly covering the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in high-risk states of South Sudan. Wani later transitioned to support the main HPF WASH and IPC component in all eight HPF-supported South Sudanese states. In the role of Deputy Health System Stabilisation and Service Delivery Manager he ensures efficient and effective delivery of the technical specialists’ HPF functions.

Wani has a broad knowledge of the South Sudan health system, having worked in different parts of the country with numerous development and humanitarian health partners of the Ministry of Health including Medicines Sans Frontières (MSF Swiss), International Medical Corps, Malaria Consortium, American Refugee Committee (Alight) and Cordaid. He has successfully managed health programmes funded by donors including OFDA, BPRM, DFID, the Government of Canada, SIDA and USAID.

He has a proven track record of successes in managing primary health care programmes, integrated community level interventions, hospital interventions, emergency preparedness and response for communicable diseases including EVD and training programmes.
