Josephine Ajambo Lavoy brings strong skills in strategic planning, sector coordination, administration (planning, organising, controlling and evaluating), public speaking, and analytical writing with advanced knowledge on international health issues and trends, as well as institutional development and programme performance management.
Ms Ajambo has worked as a Family Planning Consultant with the Health Pooled Fund in South Sudan where, among other roles, she reviewed performance of HPF2 (2015-2018) family planning component and identified lessons learnt and best practices to increase family planning demand and uptake in the South Sudan context, she developed programme technical strategy and implementation plan for HPF3 (2019-2023), as a tool to guide implementation and grant award to 23 partners.
She has extensive experience in strategy review, project management and programme evaluation and has also performed public health work with the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (Country Programme Officer at Africa’s Regional Office), Save the Children (as DRC Programme Coordinator), Programme for Accessible Health – Communication and Education (as a Regional Manager), John Hopkins University/ Centre for Communication (Programme Officer) and American Refugee Committee International.
Ms Ajambo holds an MBA in Public Health Management from the University of Cumbria, UK, and a BA in Social Sciences from Makerere University, Uganda. She is fluent in English and Kiswahili.
