Montrose was contracted to provide a Social Investment Context and Options Study for Senegal and Guinea-Bissau to guide the direction of the client’s future social investment planning in the region, with a focus on the client’s targeted geographies and preferred investment sectors.
The report had multiple aims. Firstly, to present a snapshot overview of the context in which the client will plan future social investments through an analysis of the regulatory environment and social context and mapping of relevant stakeholders. Secondly, to provide an analysis of social investment options, given the mapped context, to facilitate maximum social impact whilst aligning with the client’s strategic objectives and priorities.
Solution
Montrose provided the client with a concise report summarising the social context in Senegal and Guinea-Bissau, and presented an options analysis which the client could use as a foundation to inform more detailed strategic social investment planning in the region.
The report provided an overview of government policy and the regulatory environment, and an analysis of the social investment context including human and economic development and socio-political environments in the two countries.
Additionally, Montrose conducted a detailed mapping of stakeholders within government, the private sector, NGOs and donor agencies as relevant to the client’s interests.
Impact
The report concluded with an analysis of potential areas for social investment in line with client objectives based on the identified situation, and recommendations on the way forward.
