Montrose provided technical support in the selection of a service provider to design a mobile phone health package.
Given the shortage of software programmers in Uganda, Malaria Consortium requested Montrose to identify and carry out comprehensive due diligence on potential software companies that could design a mobile phone app for collecting health data at the community level.
Solution
Montrose carried out a scoping of the local market in Uganda and identified a range of potential software developers.
Terms of reference were developed detailing the technical steps required for the development of a health data mobile phone app.
Software developers were then invited to bid for the work. Subsequent due diligence was carried out on short-listed suppliers before final award of contract.
Impact
A contract was awarded in Uganda and a mobile phone app was developed for collecting health data in the community.
