Montrose was awarded a long-term agreement with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to provide impact assessment services for fund programmes.
IFAD is a specialised agency of the United Nations dedicated to promoting global agricultural development, providing financing to member states for programmes primarily targeting food production systems and related policy and institutions. This incorporates a diverse range of practice areas including rural finance, market access, land, gender, food security, climate and the environment.
IFAD is increasingly seeking to conduct impact assessment of programmes to facilitate results-orientated policy investment, against a background of increasing global recognition of the need for development interventions to be rigorously monitored and evaluated to improve accountability, aid-effectiveness and value for money.
IFAD therefore sought to identify qualified suppliers capable of fulfilling this requirement.
Solution
Montrose bid for and was awarded a long-term agreement to conduct impact assessments which typically involve data collection with programme beneficiaries and other stakeholders, measuring programme impact against specific criteria such as relevance, effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability.
Impact
Montrose provided impact assessment services for IFAD’s global programme portfolio across a wide range of geographies and thematic areas, conducting qualitative and quantitative research to measure the impact of IFAD-funded programmes.
