Situation

  • Our client required a needs assessment and scoping study of the health and water & sanitation sectors to inform the design of a multi-annual social investment programme in Equatorial Guinea.

Solution

  • Montrose developed a detailed health and water & sanitation needs assessment framework to guide the direction of our client’s planned social investment programme.
  • We then carried out a detailed situational analysis comprising desk-based research, field-visits and in-depth consultations with government, civil society and community-level stakeholders.
  • The study included an analysis of the disease burden and health needs of the population, the functionality of the health system and a comprehensive stakeholder analysis.

Impact

  • The study provided clear recommendations on the scope and direction of the planned social investment programme.
  • The recommendations were taken up by the client and Montrose was then contracted to carry out the programme design work.
