Under the Delivering Climate Resilient Water Sanitation and Hygiene programme funded by the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, a Montrose technical team conducted a 10-day training on climate resilient water supply system design and modelling to 30 federal and regional experts nominated by the Ministry of Water and Energy in Adama, central Ethiopia.
The programme provides direct technical assistance to the Government of Ethiopia under three workstreams. This training fell under workstream 3, Building the capacity of Government of Ethiopia staff to use climate information.
The training equipped participants with practical knowledge and skills on modelling water supply systems which will be useful for designing climate resilient models that will be used by generations to come. Training took place from 28 February to 11 March 2022, with the State Minister of Water and Energy giving the closing remarks and presenting the participants and trainers with certificates.
