Owen Kiiza provides support to the programmes department in the delivery of Montrose’s global projects for clients in the education and health sectors.
He supports the programmes team in managing cost-effective and high-quality project implementation, managing consultants and developing Terms of Reference, leading on compliance with contracts and internal policies, developing and managing work plans and working budgets and is responsible for understanding client contractual obligations and internal policies.
Owen has about eight years of social work experience. Having previously worked as a community liaison officer with Atacama Consulting in the Albertine Graben region of Uganda, where he and the team were tasked with providing the social and resettlement services for the Tilenga project, a development project in Uganda’s oil and gas sector. He also worked with TASO Uganda’s Masindi centre as a social support officer and was responsible for providing technical support to the project manager in ensuring adequate and competent implementation of social support services at the centre and in the communities. Owen also worked with TAGO Consults as a junior consultant/trainer and was mainly tasked with assisting in the planning and organisation of projects.
Owen has an MSc in International Tourism and Hospitality Management from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, and a Bachelor of Development Studies from Makerere University, Uganda. Owen is fluent in English and four Ugandan languages.
